I’m Brett. Well, actually my full name is Brett Jorge Millán Moe. I was born and raised in Mexico City, but I moved to Texas right before getting into high school.

My first language, I guess you would call it my native language, is Spanish. Because of that, I would…

My first academic love was Anthropology. Ever since I was a child, growing up in Mexico City, I would visit the Museum of Anthropology, the Pyramids at Teotihuacan, and an archaeological park in the middle of the city, aptly named, “The Parque Hundido” (The Sunken Park).

(A look at Mexican Spanish, Nahuatl, and English)

When we say that someone speaks English or someone speaks Spanish, we normally have an “ideal” version of that language in mind. English and Spanish are the first and fourth most commonly spoken languages in the world, respectively.

What is Home?

Home is a feeling, at least it is for me. The feeling may come about because of a particular place, person, time, or a combination of all three.

In my life I have felt “at” home in three places:
